R33 Spoiler & Side Emblem DIY

This is a very easy guide on how to swap out your warn/faded side emblems and instrutions for completely removing the spoiler as well.

These Nismo side emblem are extremely rare, but mine are so faded it was time to go. I replaced them with GT-R logo side emblems that perfectly matched my rims. Grab a hex key and undo the one bolt (circled in green) that is holding it in. The adjacent side is held in by a tab, so be careful when you remove it.

Here is a picture of it removed, so you can see the tab on toward the rear.

You can skip this step if you are not removing/replacing the spoiler. The bolt to the right allows you to adjust your spoiler if you want to mess with your back end down force. You’ll need to remove these two bolts and the two on the other side to get the spoiler out.

Mine were affixed pretty well and I could tell they had been on there for a decade or two. Some of the back came off and I tried to use a razor blade to scrape the remains off but it didn’t work so well.

I ended up grabbing some Goo-Be-Gone and used an old CD to scrape all the gunk off.

I got about this far and decided it was good enough. Lost some of the original paint which was sad, but I just had the car repainted and it wouldn’t have matched any way. Something to be aware of if your original paint is in decent condition.

I carefully lined up the self-adhesive new pads and pressed them down for a god two minutes each and installed my new devil wing spoiler.

Here is a picture I chopped together to show the difference. The new emblems and the devil wing were just too shiny in the sun. I’ll try to take a picture in the garage later to see if I can get a better image.
